Power to Communities: Unlocking Battery Storage online webinar
The Federal Government’s new scheme to lower the cost of small-scale batteries has already seen strong uptake by Australian households. But did you know that community facilities—like sports clubs, community centres, and churches—can also take part?
The Federal Government’s new scheme to lower the cost of small-scale batteries has already seen strong uptake by Australian households. But did you know that community facilities—like sports clubs, community centres, and churches—can also take part?
Uniting Climate, as partners of the Renew Australia for All campaign, invites you to a special online webinar designed to help community organisations unlock the benefits of solar and battery storage.
In line with the Uniting Church Synod of NSW and ACT’s 2019 resolution on a Synod-wide strategy cut emissions and advocate for climate action, we advocated for and won government investment to support communities and households to access batteries to take control of energy bills, benefit from the energy transition and repair the planet.
Join our special webinar to find out about this opportunity for Uniting Churches to make our vision for the flourishing of God’s creation a reality.
Trevor Brown, lay leader at Armidale Uniting Church, will be a speaker.
In this interactive session, you’ll:
- Hear real stories of how solar and storage have helped community organisations lower costs and strengthen their mission—and why more are considering batteries.
- Learn from experts about the key steps to take when exploring battery installation.
- Identify and troubleshoot barriers organisations face in accessing the scheme—and discuss how it could be made easier.
- Connect with peers who are already on the journey, share lessons learned, and build practical knowledge together.
Speakers
- Lex Lynch, CEO Footy for Climate
- Connor Price, Large Scale Utility & Manufacturing Policy & Engagement Manager, Smart Energy Council
- Trevor Brown, Armidale Uniting Church and Electrify Armidale
