The Office of the Children’s Guardian in NSW has launched a new website to support faith-based organisations as they implement the Child Safe Standards. In particular there is an Introductory Guide that provides excellent advice about how to get started with child safety.
We encourage all congregations to look at this material. Although the specific focus is on children and NSW, we note that the Child Safe Standards are also mandatory in the ACT, so the guide will be of assistance many of the principles are applicable across jurisdictions and across all groups of vulnerable people.
