About Rev Dr Mikie Roberts
Rev. Dr. Mikie Roberts serves as the Programme Executive for Spiritual Life and Faith and Order at the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva, Switzerland. Since February 2019, he has been leading the musical and spiritual life of the WCC, coordinating daily prayers at the Ecumenical Center, and fostering ecumenical worship within the world’s largest fellowship of Christian denominations.
Born in Sea View Farm, Antigua, Dr. Roberts was ordained as a pastor in the Moravian Church, Eastern West Indies Province, in 1993. His theological journey began in Jamaica, where he studied at the United Theological College of the West Indies and the University of the West Indies. He later pursued a Master’s in Music at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, and earned a PhD in Theological Studies from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
Before joining the WCC, Dr. Roberts served as the Provincial Director of Music for the Moravian Church, ministering to congregations across the Eastern Caribbean, including Trinidad, Barbados, and St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands).
