The Legal Team here at Synod would love to hear about Congregation's experiences using intellectual property in church or for church related activities.

Churches regularly use intellectual property like music, art/icons, books, YouTube videos, sheet music and song lyrics. However, these uses can sometimes raise tricky questions about copyright and other intellectual property rights.

Some common questions that congregations have raised recently include

· Using YouTube videos during worship 💒

· Live-streaming and recording services 🎥

· Playing recorded songs 🎵

Have your say

To assist the Synod in further supporting congregations in these matters and if you have any questions about the use of intellectual property in your congregation, or would otherwise like to share your experiences, please email the Legal team at Synod at the address: Legal@nswact.uca.org.au

If you can please send your responses by 5th March 2025, that will be very much appreciated.
