St Andrew’s Uniting Church, in collaboration with The Eremos Institute invites you to take part in the Life Context (Part 1) Intensive Journal® workshop, a two-day reflective experience led by Kate Scholl. Held on from 18–19 July 2025, from 9.30am at St Andrew’s Uniting Church, this workshop offers a structured and supportive space to explore your personal journey.

The Intensive Journal workshop introduces a practical tool to explore the fullness of one’s life and to connect with deep inner resources. A metaphor that expresses this movement is that we are artists creating our lives while listening to the deep stirrings which will guide us to paint on the canvas of our lives, an artwork which is integrated and a true image of our essence and beauty.

The two day workshop starts on Friday where all are welcome with no prior experience in journal writing needed.

“With gentle guidance in the workshop we explore our life, in its many aspects, our life history, our relationships, our work, our body and health, the groups and organisations and hobbies that we give our energy to or have given energy to in the past,” says workshop leader Kate Scholl.

Developed by Dr Ira Progoff in the 1960’s, this profound and transformative method of journal writing continues to assist people across the world to experience the wholeness of their lives. "The Intensive Journal workbook is specifically designed to provide an instrument by which people can discover within themselves the resources they did not know they possessed,” says Dr Ira.

Kate is an accreditted leader for the Intensive Journal program and has been leading the workshops for nearly 40 years across Australia and online. “It is a privilege to lead these workshops and see people’s lives unfold as they use the methods that Dr. Progoff has given us,” she says.

Kate shares description of the workshop atmosphere “The experience of a Journal Workshop is like entering a sanctuary, a protected situation safe from the outer pressures of the world. It is an experience of ‘supportive solitude’ where each person works deeply in their own journal workbook. In this atmosphere of depth people often uncover inner resources that they are able actualise and carry them with them into their everyday life,” she says.
