From the June 2025 (Vol 27.1) issue, Uniting Church Studies will be a fully online and open access journal.
As readers will be aware, the production and distribution of academic journals has been undergoing significant changes in recent years. Online publication and open access are increasingly features of the world of academic journals. Reflecting these trends and the reasons for them (budgetary, environmental and access), the Uniting Church Studies Editorial Advisory Committee has decided that this Journal too should move to being online and open access.
In other words, access to the Journal will be unlimited and subscription-free.
From June 2025 issue onwards, each issue will be uploaded to the Illuminate platform of the Camden library and be immediately available to all interested readers. Publication of each issue will be notified via this website and the Journal’s Facebook page.
The arrangements for any refunds on existing subscriptions which extend beyond December 2024 are included in the letter to subscribers included with the December 2024 issue.
It is the committee’s view that this move will make the work of those who contribute to the journal more easily accessible and more widely known.
